Sankofa Farms LLC is a multifaceted agricultural entity that seeks to assist changing the food intake habits of those living in and affected by food deserts.
Through our partnership network and focus on Agricultural Life and Sustainability, Jomoworks can help your organization go beyond the grant to:
o Use a systems approach that recognizes and uses the convergence of rapidly advancing science and technology to address these complex and intertwined problems, and ensure the economic, environmental, and social well-being goals of sustainable agriculture
o Enhance the availability of a skilled workforce through development and deployment of formal and non-formal education, immersive-learning activities, and training of the current and next generation of the agricultural workforce
o Build new formal and non-formal education/training activities for youth and adults resulting in high quality employment skills and opportunities, particularly for underserved communities and youth
o Increase access and interest in food and agricultural education for communities, especially those underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)
o Develop tools, techniques, and/or formal and non-formal education practices that can be adopted and implemented by education professionals in the classroom, at home or by extension specialists, or other non-formal education professionals
