A decade of going beyond the grant.
Since 2016 Jomoworks has helped connect Universities to local communities through grantwriting, programs and communications strategy.
A Decade in Review
-
Jomoworks works hard to connect nonprofits with resources at the University and K-12 levels through grantwriting, programs and communications strategy.
-
We believe that communities have wisdom.
-
Jomoworks began in 2016, with a school district programs grant from the Foundation for Leon County Schools in Tallahassee, FL.
We quickly learned that program evaluation data is very valuable in getting funding. In 2017, Jomoworks received a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to expand its programming in Guilford County, NC.
In 2019 Jomoworks evaluated several million dollars in community-engaged non-profit research across medicine, public health and education.
Then, we learned the value of communications strategy in the funding equation. From 2019 to 2024 Jomoworks partnered with non-profit, university, and community partners coast-to-coast to provide communications technical training and assistance.
In 2024, Jomoworks migrated its program evaluation division to the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where our founder (Brian Carey Sims) founded the Center for Metrics and Evaluation in the UNMC College of Public Health.
In 2026, Jomoworks has returned to its roots: quality grantwriting, evidence-based programs, and communications support for non-profits.
